Professor Dr. Nadia Munir is a distinguished academician with over sixteen years of comprehensive experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership, currently serving as Convener of the Postgraduate Research Advisory Committee at Lahore Medical & Dental College (LMDC). She holds a Doctorate in Dental Materials from Universiti Sains Malaysia, where she was conferred the prestigious Sanggar Sanjung (Hall of Fame Award) for high-impact research making her the second female foreign-qualified doctorate holder in Dental Materials in Pakistan. She holds an M.Phil. from the University of Health Sciences, Lahore, for which she was awarded a Gold Medal.
As Convener of the Postgraduate Research Advisory Committee at LMDC, Professor Nadia Munir leads the committee with the core objectives to provide structured research oversight and mentorship ensuring that each postgraduate student receives systematic guidance in developing robust research proposals and periodic progress reviews to facilitate timely and successful completion of their project.
Her extensive research portfolio comprises over thirty-eight publications in national and international impact-factor journals in collaboration with international universities. Her professional commitment lies in integrating evidence-based research into teaching pedagogy and translating scholarly work into tangible improvements in oral-health outcomes.
Dr Nadia has significantly contributed to dental education by authoring a 2nd Year BDS Practical Log Book of Science of Dental Materials(2021) and co-authoring Pakistan’s first dental textbook featuring technology-assisted chatbots, AI-driven animations, and supporting software with installed textbooks accessible via QR code.
She serves on the National Editorial Board of AJHS (PMDC Recognized) and the International Journal of SAP Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry, while also serving as a peer reviewer for numerous national and international journals and actively serving as Subject Expert for the UHS Integrated Curriculum (Dental Materials 2K25), Convener of the Subject Advisory Committee for undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum, and Head Examiner and assessor for both undergraduate and postgraduate examinations in Dental Materials. Additionally, she serves as a Ph.D. Examiner and Reviewer at Khyber College of Dentistry (NUMS) and Dow University, Karachi.
She holds professional memberships with the Royal Australian College of Dental surgeons, Malaysian Society of Microbiology (MYSOMOI), and the International Association for Dental Research (IADR), where she has presented as an oral presenter and speaker.
The Postgraduate research committee aims to recommending appropriate actions to uphold the academic integrity and quality standards of the institution’s via high-impact research mentoring to the emerging researchers, strengthen international research linkages, and elevate LMDC’s research output and institutional reputation.
